Karen Gold, R.N.
Karen Gold recently finished her second three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and is a current Board member of Elder Services of Berkshire County Inc. A passionate advocate for education about Alzheimer’s Disease, she was a caregiver for her mother who died of Alzheimer's in 1992. With her family, she contributed to the expansion in 1997 of the Elder Services Alzheimer’s Resource Center at Elder Services in honor of her parents Richard and Rita Gallagher.
She is a founding member of the Berkshire Alzheimer’s Partnership and has been actively involved in many local activities to broaden public awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease and raise funds through events including the Walk to End Alzheimer's (formerly known as Memory Walk) since its inception in the Berkshire in the early 1990s and the biennial Caregivers Expo which is sponsored by the Berkshire Alzheimer's Partnership.
